Ruiz-Giménez fue una persona de una sensibilidad exquisita y un excelente profesor y\nmaestro. Creo que para él eso, y la lucha por los derechos humanos, era la guía que orientó su comportamiento social, antes que\nla voluntad o el deseo de desempeñar determinados papeles políticos. Por eso, creo que se equivocan los que piensan que su vida\nfue un fracaso político, ya que su principal triunfo fue contribuir a difundir en la sociedad española un espíritu de diálogo,\ntolerancia y de convivencia cívica que hizo posible la transición democrática y que permitió superar un ciclo de enconamientos\nextremos que conducían a la autodestrucción. La izquierda intentó una ruptura\ndemocrática entre noviembre de 1975 y enero de 1976 que no se produjo debido a la fuerza de los núcleos civiles, económicos,\ninstitucionales, policiales y militares del franquismo frente a una oposición estructuralmente debilitada. La impotencia de la\nderecha se comprobó con el fracaso de la intentona militar del 23 de febrero de 1981.
