Extractos.</p>\r\n<div class=\"contentauthor p\"><strong><a href=\"http://www.voxeurop.eu/es/content/source-profile/22691-fokus\">Fokus</a></strong></div>\r\n<p>La noche del 27 al 28 de enero, justo despu&eacute;s de medianoche, el presidente Hosni Mubarak orden&oacute; a los proveedores de Internet que bloquearan el acceso a la red. Gracias a un &uacute;nico cable en el fondo del Mediterr&aacute;neo, Egipto no qued&oacute; totalmente aislado del mundo y permiti&oacute; que la Bolsa del Cairo se mantuviese conectada.</p>\r\n<p>Incluso se desactiv&oacute; la red de telefon&iacute;a m&oacute;vil. El objetivo era aislar a los egipcios y entorpecer la organizaci&oacute;n del \"d&iacute;a de la ira\", durante el cual cientos de miles de personas deb&iacute;an reunirse en la plaza Tahrir tras la oraci&oacute;n del viernes para protestar contra la dictadura.</p>\r\n<p>Christopher Kullenberg estaba sentado delante de su ordenador, en una residencia universitaria de Gotemburgo. Durante el d&iacute;a es un estudiante de doctorado de teor&iacute;a de las ciencias en la Universidad de Gotemburgo y, por la noche, cibermilitante. Forma parte del n&uacute;cleo duro de un colectivo de hackers y de activistas repartidos por toda Europa y agrupados bajo el nombre de Telecomix. En sus pantallas, vivieron en directo el bloqueo de las conexiones egipcias de Internet. Christopher Kullenberg estaba en pleno chat con un revolucionario egipcio cuando se cort&oacute; la comunicaci&oacute;n. &iquest;Qu&eacute; pod&iacute;a hacer?</p>\r\n<h4>Cincuenta egipcios informando al mundo</h4>\r\n<p>En el chat de&nbsp;<a title=\"Opens in new window\" href=\"http://telecomix.org/\" target=\"_blank\">Telecomix</a>, comenzaron a intercambiar ideas sin parar. Se instal&oacute; una antena en B&eacute;lgica con la esperanza de ponerse en contacto con los radioaficionados egipcios, pero lo &uacute;nico que lograron captar los hackers fue la radio del ej&eacute;rcito egipcio.</p>\r\n<p>Entonces, a los miembros de Telecomix se les ocurri&oacute; la idea de recuperar los viejos stocks de m&oacute;dems que databan de la &eacute;poca en la que las cibercomunicaciones pasaban por l&iacute;neas fijas e incluso lograron la ayuda de un proveedor de acceso franc&eacute;s, que les proporcion&oacute; sus stocks de m&oacute;dems olvidados y puso a su disposici&oacute;n conexiones gratuitas. Una vez que se puso el material en camino, enviaron por fax los n&uacute;meros de tel&eacute;fono y las instrucciones que deb&iacute;an seguir para conectarse.</p>\r\n<p>De este modo, unos cincuenta egipcios, a lo sumo, pudieron conectarse a Internet cuando la red se suspendi&oacute; oficialmente. Puede parecer poco con respecto a una poblaci&oacute;n de 80 millones. Pero fue suficiente para que los militantes transmitieran la informaci&oacute;n fuera del pa&iacute;s cuando las fuerzas de seguridad de Mubarak asaltaron la plaza Tahrir, unos d&iacute;as m&aacute;s tarde.</p>\r\n<h4>C&oacute;mo crear un cortocircuito pol&iacute;tico</h4>\r\n<p>Por aquel entonces, se puede decir que Christopher Kullenberg y sus amigos no pegaron ojo durante varios d&iacute;as. Telecomix se cre&oacute; en abril de 2009 durante una fiesta que organiz&oacute; en su casa. Al principio, s&oacute;lo eran una decena de personas. Se conocieron durante el proceso de Pirate Bay y por entonces estaban preocupados por la aplicaci&oacute;n del \"Paquete de Telecomunicaciones\" [la normativa europea sobre las empresas de telecomunicaciones] que se estaba debatiendo en Bruselas y pon&iacute;a en peligro el derecho a disfrutar de una web libre y abierta a todos.</p>\r\n<div class=\"bodyad\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2732273183513357\" data-ad-slot=\"3154634823\" data-adsbygoogle-status=\"done\"><ins id=\"aswift_0_expand\"><ins id=\"aswift_0_anchor\"><iframe id=\"aswift_0\" name=\"aswift_0\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" width=\"336\" height=\"280\"></iframe></ins></ins></ins></div>\r\n<p>Las posibilidades de lograr movilizar a la opini&oacute;n p&uacute;blica sobre una cuesti&oacute;n tan secundaria como la neutralidad de la red parec&iacute;an escasas. Telecomix entonces se propuso ejercer presi&oacute;n directamente sobre los responsables de la toma de decisiones. El colectivo cre&oacute; un sitio en el que facilitaba los n&uacute;meros de tel&eacute;fono de los eurodiputados e instaba a los internautas a llamarles. \"Encontramos una forma de crear un cortocircuito en el proceso pol&iacute;tico\", comenta con satisfacci&oacute;n Christopher Kullenberg.</p>\r\n<p>Desconcertados, los parlamentarios comentaban entre ellos c&oacute;mo los electores de repente hab&iacute;an empezado a llamarles a Bruselas para hablarles de Internet. Desde entonces, la UE se convirti&oacute; en el principal objetivo de Telecomix, que intenta llegar lo m&aacute;s alto posible en la jerarqu&iacute;a europea. El t&iacute;tulo universitario de Christopher Kullenberg legitima a la organizaci&oacute;n ante los principales actores pol&iacute;ticos.</p>\r\n<h4>\"El manifiesto ciberpol&iacute;tico\"</h4>\r\n<p>El activista comparte una peque&ntilde;a oficina con otros dos estudiantes de doctorado en el antiguo tribunal de apelaciones de Gotemburgo, un viejo edificio de ladrillos. \"El manifiesto ciberpol&iacute;tico\", su primera y de momento &uacute;nica obra, publicada seis meses antes del inicio de la primavera &aacute;rabe, est&aacute; en alg&uacute;n lugar entre las pilas de libros que cubren su oficina. Se supone que debe terminar los &uacute;ltimos cap&iacute;tulos de su tesis, pero en la pantalla del ordenador se puede ver el chat de Telecomix.</p>\r\n<p>Christopher Kullenberg naci&oacute; en 1980 en la peque&ntilde;a ciudad de Bodafors, en el cintur&oacute;n b&iacute;blico de la provincia de Sm&aring;land [en el sur de Suecia], desde donde una vez pasada su adolescencia parte hacia la Universidad de Gotemburgo y hacia la libertad. All&iacute;, pasa la mayor&iacute;a del tiempo en la biblioteca de la universidad. Sigue un programa de estudios doble y obtiene la nota mas alta en los ex&aacute;menes. Llega a ser estudiante de doctorado.</p>\r\n<p>Y despu&eacute;s le absorbe el agujero negro de la ciberpol&iacute;tica. Es la &eacute;poca de las intervenciones policiales contra The Pirate Bay y de la creaci&oacute;n del Partido Pirata. Lo que le interesa entonces a Christopher Kullenberg, no es la descarga de m&uacute;sica gratuita, sino lo que estaba ocurriendo con Internet, la infraestructura com&uacute;n de nuestra libertad de expresi&oacute;n. Para los pol&iacute;ticos (hace poco pronunci&oacute; un discurso ante el Consejo de Europa en Viena), es el \"ciberactivista del piercing\". Para la cultura hacker, es un fil&oacute;sofo que, en el fondo, es m&aacute;s experto en letras que en t&eacute;cnica. Y recientemente acudi&oacute; como especialista en teor&iacute;a cient&iacute;fica a la plaza Tahrir de El Cairo, entre los gases lacrim&oacute;genos, invitado por la embajada de Suecia, para hablar ante los blogueros.</p>\r\n<h4>Capaz de llegar a todos</h4>\r\n<p>Christopher Kullenberg recuerda mucho a un profesor chapado a la antigua, atrapado en una &eacute;poca digital, con una especial aptitud para traducir una tecnolog&iacute;a compleja en una pol&iacute;tica que llega a todos. Telecomix tan s&oacute;lo es un medio entre muchos otros. Tambi&eacute;n es miembro activo del&nbsp;<a title=\"Opens in new window\" href=\"http://juliagruppen.se/\" target=\"_blank\">grupo</a><a title=\"Opens in new window\" href=\"http://juliagruppen.se/\" target=\"_blank\">Julia</a>, un laboratorio de ideas que act&uacute;a a favor de una web libre y abierta a todos. Y ha publicado una revista cient&iacute;fica sobre las teor&iacute;as de la resistencia.</p>\r\n<p>El mensaje es el mismo en todas partes: \"Intento traducir en pol&iacute;tica una pr&aacute;ctica existente\". No forma parte de los fatalistas, ni de los tecn&oacute;filos. Ni tampoco de los que pretenden que tomemos inexorablemente el camino de una sociedad policial, ni de los que afirman que la generalizaci&oacute;n de la fibra &oacute;ptica vendr&aacute; acompa&ntilde;ada necesariamente de un refuerzo de la democracia en el mundo.</p>\r\n<p>Internet no es democr&aacute;tica en s&iacute; misma. Christopher Kullenberg es el primero que reconoce que, en gran medida, la red est&aacute; regida actualmente por un grupo de multinacionales cuyo objetivo principal es limitar las comunicaciones a sus servicios comerciales.</p>\r\n<p>Lo que no impide ver en el progreso tecnol&oacute;gico un gran potencial para la democracia.
