Bienvenido a Al-Masdar. Le invitamos a explorar temas sobre la enseñanza de la lengua árabe y la cultura árabe.
Uno de los mayores retos a los que se enfrentan los maestros de árabe y no lingüísticos es la falta de materiales de lengua árabe K-12 de fácil acceso y de alta calidad que puedan ser rápidamente adaptados y utilizados en el aula. Para abordar esta necesidad muy real, QFI se enorgullece de presentar Al-Masdar, la fuente de materiales de enseñanza de la lengua árabe y de la cultura árabe, oportunidades, noticias y eventos relevantes para profesores y estudiantes. Al-Masdar es una fuente única para que los maestros creen, publiquen y colaboren con colegas en materiales desarrollados para sus aulas.
Al-Masdar se divide en dos categorías: Recursos de Enseñanza de la Lengua Árabe y Recursos de Enseñanza de la Sociedad y Cultura Árabe. Al-Masdar proporciona los recursos que los maestros necesitan para crear salones de clases efectivos junto con una lista de oportunidades académicas y profesionales para los maestros, así como una sólida base de datos de materiales y programas de lengua y cultura árabe. La plataforma, lanzada en noviembre de 2013, fue creada inicialmente en colaboración con el Instituto para el Estudio de la Gestión del Conocimiento en Educación (ISKME) y el Centro para las Lenguas, Artes y Sociedades de la Ruta de la Seda (CLASSRoad) (OER) para maestros de lengua árabe. A medida que los profesores de lengua árabe y de la cultura árabe comenzaron a ofrecer comentarios y aclarar sus necesidades, QFI se asoció con CLASSRoad para delinear los próximos pasos para la evolución de Al-Masdar como un sitio independiente.
QFI formó una Junta Asesora de Maestros cuyos miembros investigaron, desarrollaron y catalogaron contenido adicional, aumentando el número de recursos relevantes y confiables. Además de los diversos recursos OER y no OER disponibles, el sitio también sirve como punto de encuentro para que los maestros colaboren, compartan, recomienden y califiquen materiales, aprendan sobre becas y becas para estudiantes, oportunidades de capacitación para maestros, talleres y conferencias Relacionados con la lengua árabe y la cultura árabe.

Esta sorprendente película, diseñada para ver en un teléfono móvil, ayuda al espectador a experimentar con inmediatez la confusión y el miedo que enfrentan los refugiados que hacen un peligroso viaje en barco. Tu teléfono ahora es el teléfono de refugiado. Los mensajes de texto llegan de su familia. De repente alguien te contacta en WhatsApp advirtiéndole que regreses. ¿Pero tienen razón? Su línea de vida es un teléfono sin señal que se está quedando sin batería.
La película se basa en una investigación realizada por BBC Media Action, en asociación con DAHLIA, para ayudar a las agencias humanitarias a ser conscientes de los problemas de comunicación de los refugiados en tránsito. Se encontró que el acceso a Internet, redes móviles y medios de comunicación social son fundamentales para ayudar a las personas a sentirse más informado y mejor conectado.
